Highlight items button (accessability option)
I would like a button to highlight/outline all surrounding items in the area. It's sometimes very hard to make out on a TV or on Steam Deck, or even on a normal monitor.

ChristopherYes please! There's a ton of easy to miss lootable objects that aren't intended to be hidden. Right now it's a game of bumping everywhere to find what's lootable and that's just not fun. Let alone companions can block lootable details if they're near it, which happens often in buildings when stealthy.

irritablerodentI agree. But I do understand why there is not one, I think. It's a design consideration to reward player exploration, it allows the devs to hide things away in corners of the game. The Divinity games do this also, but they compromise by allowing the highlighting of loose items (not containers) and Divinity 2 has a radius search feature that generates a "container" ui showing all lootables within the radius. Divinity also allows you to cycle through all nearby interactables, which would also help a lot.
I would love to see at least some small compromise in this direction. But a full-on high-light everything as an accessibility option would also be welcome and *may* be simpler to implement. -

irritablerodentAnother thought. Or just limit the high-light to a radius around the player.

MetzliI've seen in some games an option to just put a permanent outline around lootable objects as well. This may be a good compromise. Let the player choose whether to play the game as originally intended, or enable the assistance feature. IE I do sometimes was the help for certain small quest items, but I wouldn't really want to accidentally hi-light a hidden item and take the fun out of that.

suhfeeI have poor vision and this would be a godsend for accessibility reasons

ConThe 'tactical mode' greys the screen and slows down time - it would be cool if this was like a heightened senses ability which highlights objects/points of interest. Similar to other game mechanics

laxibaI would love this 100%, because my vision is bad even when i'm using my glasses.

RobertThis is rather necessary IMO, you can't expect everyone playing this game to have perfect eagle vision. Also, the initial parts of this game have a very dark color palette (during night in the canyon, which I assume is the intended early play experience) and tiny objects will easily fall into the background, no matter if you zoom in a lot. Highlighting objects (even if it was only in a decent radius from the player, not all objects on the screen) would do a lot to remedy this.

SethSo to those saying this would ruin exploration, make it an optional glow or outline that the player can toggle on or off. That way if you don't want to use it you don't have to. That said, I would personally prefer a button.

MarcI agree with having it as an option, either in a radius around your character and be able to adjust the radius in the menu. or have a key you press an it shows only while its pressed [maybe can add an option to always be on] I don't want to be told where everything is, and try to search every thing, but the completionist in me doesn't want to leave an area until I know I have looted all that can be looted

CalomelA system of group toggle like in the Divinity games would be useful.

personThe ability to highlight all interactable objects would be a huge QOL improvement.
In response to the "reward exploration" comments, I completely disagree with that application in this context. The idea of rewarding exploration should be applied to going to areas, not about moving your character into every possible space looking for a popup within an area. The latter is just unnecessarily tedious. -

MichaelI would definitely love to see this, I find it odd that it does not already exist. I had to do a double take over the keyboard bindings when looking for it as I found it weirder than the west itself for it not to exist!
