Aim assist or a 'snap-to' aiming.
Having to stop aiming to change player direction is not enjoyable with the fast paced action of the combat using a controller.

SaikoIt would be neat if they implement this since right now I play with a controller but have to use my mouse for aiming and then the camera goes haywire. It could get really messy at times especially when there are multiple enemies coming at you

Christopher DiBellaAs someone playing with a mouse, the game already has something LIKE this, it's just also hyper precise at the same time.
Snapping to the closest target or etc. when you right click might be great for console. -

Angel StewartI think if Aim Assist is on, the controller should just autosnap, and left and right just switches targets.

JeffreyI play on the PS5 and combat doesn't feel great. I think this would go a long way towards fixing that.

Josh RhodesStrongly agree with the sentiment on some slightly stronger aim assist, many of the weapons in the game are designed for a more mid range encounter, and I've found the aiming to be very finicky when trying to line up shots at range, and combat with groups of enemies is something I will actively avoid because its too much hassle to try and aim at more than a small number of enemies, especially if they're aware of your presence and begin moving around.
I found people on reddit discussing this issue and the consensus was people were just abusing the slow motion effect of the skill wheel to have permanent slow motion combat to line up shots better. Ideally if people are resorting to this as their go-to way of playing the game perhaps something is a little off there.
I'd love to see perhaps a slightly wider acceptable zone for hits, or maybe some mild assist on tracking enemies that move.
That and a bit of stabilisation as my aim often 'wobbles' when trying to hold an angle. -

aktionmutanteYes definitely, i play with ps5 controller on steam and finding the right angle to shoot is hard as hell. Maybe it was the purpose for the player to develop a kind of feeling for that but the problem is the controller is much slower when it comes to aiming. Yes you can increase the sensitivity but that makes it worse for me so i turned it back down a bit.
I can play it now OK but for game that totally relies on that mechanic it would be great for the controller to be responsive and has at least some kind of snapping behaviour....e.g. having two enemies, one north, one south -> never gonna work in time...
...and as already said above if player already exploit the weapon wheel for better aiming its time to research a bit how to improve the handling...
Hint(for controllers):
1.) Introduce a hitbox around enemies that is scaled by difficulty level.
2.) If the player aims and hits the hitbox the patch-trace of the aiming snaps to that enemy.
3.) Hit yeah :-) -

Cat H.The best reason for aim assist is... Accessibility for gamers with motor function issues. KB or controller... some level of it is pretty standard in the Accessibility Handbook and it would go a long way for QoL and recommending the game to a wider group of gamers.

Julien Roby AdminWe are experimenting for Patch 1.03 with an Alternate aiming system you will be able to turn on in the gameplay option, that should alleviate the camera issue.

Chris AugustinI switched my build to melee because using guns on console was very difficult. It was either this or use slow down, aim, shoot, slow down, aim shoot; etc.
Not a comfortable button combination on a controller either.
Snap to would be an amazing addition.
