Add Sandbox mode
Would love to have a more sandbox playthrough, where there is no end. Repeatable but random tasks, bounties, and exploration. Obviously a decent bit of work but the game already has the layout to allow such a game mode, just needs more activities to be added to be enjoyable.

The IdealistHow I wish i can upvote this idea a thousand times, totally agree with a sandbox mode or end game content/activity that allows repeated task or events to be played, while still having the ability to choose any characters.

Dano Pettofrezzathis game is just waaaaay toooo awesome to ever be ending, i have waited for a game like this for a long time now, hopping from one game to the other always bored after a few hours ... finally this one i can play forever xD but my Bell only needs two more skills .. then i have to go to Pigmen after patch (third play through)

Mr. DavenportThis is the big one imo - a huge world that is begging to just be lived in. Adding some trade skills could be sick too, furthering the hunting into fishing (I'm just a sucker for fishing tbh) or otherwise able to etch out a living in the Weird West.

aktionmutanteYepp endless game, to really see where this all leads to, all your mayhem ...
BUT
I'd also like to have that kind of resettable sandbox or custom made encounters where i can test my skills and weapons. -

IRiverZThis would be a great new feature, but only if there would be more (and more varied) activities to do in the main story as well. Doing only bounty missions were already get very repetitive/boring in just a few hours in the main campaign - this would be even bigger problem in a sandbox mode where there is no story missions to balance thing out.

Chi-ZI also really love this idea, but give it that extra spicy kick with some "perma-death" mixed in with the random character generator (including bounty hunters, outlaws, werewolves, pigmen, etc.) so it gives a sense of loss, but a new potential play styles to try out. It'd definitely require some balancing on passives that stick around in the campaign, like the spirit vision and ability to read ancient texts, so players don't try and cheese the loop to gain skills. Sandbox mode does "seem" to be entirely doable, but then again maybe it's just not practical enough, cool thing to brainstorm though.

IggyThey could totally do this, just want to add a few more things to the above comments so they (hopefully!) put this into consideration:
-the story (if they add one for sandbox mode) could take place after the main story with all the choices (whether made by the player or the devs).
-the content could do with a tutorial, so it preps players that decide to just jump straight into it.
-just as hunting for bounties, we could also have hideouts so when we get members for our posse, they're able to hangout/defend the place from bounty hunters and other gangs. You could do the same with abandoned mines/towns, you could make it to where it could thrive too!
-seeing how the player character isn't "possessed", we should be able to choose our starting "class" so to speak. We have 5 to start with and I'd imagine adding a few "exclusive" ones to the sandbox mode shouldn't be too hard (again hopefully!) -

Julien Roby AdminFor Patch 1.05 we plan on opening the end game so you can keep on playing with any of the Journey Heroes who will have survived, and on free updates that will come after that introduce more and more content to keep you playing in that mode
